3.   Phone calls arrive at the rate of 48 per hour at the reservation desk for Regional Airways. Assume that callers wait for their turn until connected.

a.   Compute the probability of receiving three calls in a 5-minute interval of time. (2 pt.)

b.   Compute the probability of receiving exactly 10 calls in 15 minutes. (2 pt.)

c.   Suppose no calls are currently on hold. If the agent takes 5 minutes to complete the current call, how many callers do you expect to be waiting by that time?

What is the probability that none will be waiting? (3 pt.)

4.   You participate in a charity 4-cards stud poker tournament. Use the hypergeometric

probability distribution formula to determine the probability that a hand (of four cards) from a single deck of 52 cards contains one heart, one club, one diamond, and one spade (there are equal numbers of cards for hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades in a deck). (3 pt.)

Represent the probability as a fraction number with the simplest form (no common factors between numerator and denominator)
