I. Network Diagrams
A. Select one of the work packages that you have de-composed into activities
B. Create an AON Network for the activities in the work package
C. Look for as many simultaneous activities as possible
1. Ask yourself: Can this activity start right away? If not, what needs to be done before it can start
II. Dependency Types & Leads/Lags
A. Review the activities and find examples of:
1. External Dependencies
a) FDA Approvals are an external dependencies as they are an
outside organization, and it is required in order to move on with the remaining tasks
b) Partnering with pharmaceutical distributors are an external dependency because there may be delays in distribution that Medsynthesis does not have control over
c) Reviews from doctors and influencers in the pharmaceutical side of social media once the marketing campaign is launched is an external dependency as the company does not have control over their reviews and the sales relies on their distribution
2. Mandatory Dependencies
a) FDA Approvals is a mandatory dependency as it cannot be launched without their approval
b) FDA Auditing is mandatory as it is a prescription drug and a routine process under the the FDA
c) Approval of documents and submission of clinical data is
mandatory before proceeding with marketing and manufacturing in order to legalize the process of production
3. Discretionary Dependencies
a) Gathering influencers and paying for their marketing is a discretionary dependency as the marketing believes it is a necessary part of their campaign
b) Involving policy makers in the marketing process is a discretionary dependence as the marketing team believes it will strengthen their marketing campaign
c) Partnering with pharmaceutical distributors instead of distributing on their own man power is a discretionary dependency because the team believes that it will reach a wider audience using the connections of their distributors

III. Critical Path
A. Using the information from the table below create an AON Diagram
B. Calculate ES,EF,LS and LF for each activity
C. Identify the critical path
D. Determine the duration of the critical path
IV. Performance Measurement Baseline Data
A. Download the Excel spreadsheet provided with this week’s lecture material
B. Use Microsoft Project, Project Libre, or any other project management software to create a performance measurement baseline using the provided data set
1. Identify the 3 logical inconsistencies and explain how your team fixed them
2. Add WBS coding
3. Add resources, scheduling and costs

b) Equipment
c) Reserves
4. Level resources
5. Set baseline
